who we are
In 1982, Jim Rash began a wholesale shipping business for citrus and watermelon crops. Incorporated in 1983, Jim ran a successful business built on shipping quality product, honest relationships, and integrity.
In 1990, Jim's brother Earl Rash joined the company and focused on growing the company with the same values his brother had established.
In 2005, Jim Rash Inc. was acquired by Bobby Barton. Using his knowledge of the transportation, farming, and wholesale sides of the business, Bobby aimed to continue to partner with farmers and wholesale customers to provide fresh produce with excellent quality. Bobby currently serves as a board member of the Florida Watermelon Association and Georgia Watermelon Association.
In 2010, Jill Barton joined the team as President of Jim Rash Inc. Jill brings the experience of 14 years in a corporate environment with various roles from operations to sales management. She received her undergraduate degree from Florida Southern College and her MBA from Southeastern University in 2011. Jill currently serves as a member of the FAPC (Florida Agricultural Promotion Campaign) Advisory Council and the SEPC Arnold Palmer Children’s Home committee.
For over 35 years, we have worked to build and maintain our reputation in the produce industry. Combined, our team has over 100 years experience with all things watermelon. Most of us grew up in this industry. Summers weren't for vacations ... they were for working watermelons!
We believe in treating others how we want to be treated - with honesty and integrity. Handshakes, dirty trucks, and big glasses of sweet tea are pretty common around our offices. We work hard to deliver great watermelons, and we enjoy doing it!
